Throughout its existence, the USSR was a leader in military optics. After the Soviet Army entered Germany in WWII, they made a concerted effort to occupy as many industrial factories as possible. They occupied the majority of the German optical plants, including the famous Carl Zeiss-Jena factory. They then took the technology and tooling back to Russia, added their own refinements and began to build similar but even more advanced binoculars. For many years these binoculars were strictly for military issue. In the late 80's, a series of testing definitively proved that the BPOC Military Issue line of binoculars were superior to their world-famous predecessors, Carl Zeiss-Jena binoculars. These binoculars provide amazing quality at a fraction of the cost. The 7x30 binoculars are military issue for USSR army officers. They feature a rubberized body, separate focus and measuring grid. These legendary 7x30 military binoculars have a special built-in 2-D Range Finder Reticule. Additionally these binoculars boast fully-coated optics, a soft rubberized body coating, specially cured prism magnification setup called "Seconda", individual ocular focusing, a 2-dimensional measuring grid for measuring distances, a wide angle Erfle 5 element, long 22.5 mm eye relief oculars with retractable shades for eyeglass wearers, wide Porro prism depth perception design and a single piece sturdy body style. The optics are precision-ground and fully-coated. The purchase includes an individual military serial number, ocular covers, a neck strap, and English instruction manual. Military use has borne out their facility and usefulness at twilight and in cloudy weather due to their specially enlightened prism setup, "Secunda." Military commanders brag of their famous non-narrowing field of vision and the resultant distinct and contrasting picture. They are set apart by their superior resolution; don't even think of comparing them with other more-pedestrian binoculars, both civilian or even military binoculars. Again, they are perfectly suited to any climate and well protected from moisture and dust and come with a cushioned housing which reliably protects the lens against impact. The eyepieces have their own special covers. These sell for over $200 retail in stores and have no match in this price range from shoddy Asian optics. High-grade German or American binoculars with this level of clarity and performance will run you several times the price. Buy them here at the lowest price on the Web or anywhere else. |
